Shiro’s African Boutique was established in 2017 by Mary Kuria with a mission to elevate and impact the lives of the artists that we work with. Shiro’s works with the same group of Kenyan artists who make uniquely crafted jewelry and other beautiful small home decor items sold by our store. Shiro’s has had a long-standing relationship with the same artists year after year since 2017. Shiro’s not only finding U.S. markets for the artist's products but also our fair buying practices and our large purchases help all the artists sustain their families’ livelihoods and support costly but important costs such as school fees for their children’s education.
